Lisianthus Dress Pattern for Dolls
MVC Lisiathus Dress
Lisianthus, featured in the Spring 2013 collection – Bloom! With the birds trilling and the sun just beginning to peek over the horizon, she could tell it was going to be a wonderful day. She leapt out of bed, danced along the garden pathway in her bare feet and stopped to tenderly brush the petals of each flower with her fingers as she passed.
This dress has a delicious retro flair and unique style details. Topstitching accents the chevron-pieced bodice, while the full skirt hearkens back to the sock hops of the 50’s. There’s a subtle nod to the present, though, in the gentle hi-lo contour of the skirt. Rayon seam binding spirals around the neckline and waist, culminating in the Melody Valerie signature bow. It also sports a fully lined bodice, bound armholes, and an invisible zipper.
- 1/2 yard fabric
- fabric scraps for bodice lining
- 1-1/4 yards ribbon or trim
- One 7-9″ invisible zipper
- Matching Thread
Pattern Details: This is an Intermedaite level sewing pattern. The example dress features cotton lawn, but it would look beautiful made with cotton batiste, voile, or even a lightweight rayon. For a more winter-friendly look, try corduroy. Polyester, lightweight cotton, or china silk all work well as a lining.
