Cutie Pie and Me
As a child, my most treasured toy was a My Friend Mandy doll and her suitcase full of clothes hand-made by my great aunt. As an adult, I fell in love with American Girl dolls after a visit to the Chicago American Girl Place. I was inspired to sew clothing for them just as my aunt had sewn clothing for my doll when I was young.
I’m mostly self-taught in various needle arts, quilting, and sewing. I did spend six years working at a small, locally owned fabric store where I learned a lot about clothing construction from my wonderful co-workers! Many of my early doll clothes were displayed in the store as samples for the various patterns that were stocked.
Since then I have always been on the lookout for fun new patterns to sew (and have added lots of American Girl doll “models” to my collection!). I was thrilled when I found Liberty Jane Patterns. Real-looking clothes! Great fit! Finally!
Sewing Liberty Jane patterns has given me the confidence to try designing patterns of my own. I am grateful for this opportunity.
I am thankful for my husband and two children and also their willingness to accompany me on fabric shopping trips and visits to AG Place.
