Stacy and Stella

A big hello from New Zealand, where we know a lot about wool!

I have two wonderful daughters, 6 and 9, who are the inspiration for a lot of my creative work. And my very supportive husband is only slightly concerned about my recent obsession with doll clothes design. My family and I were introduced to American Girl dolls last year on a holiday to the USA. We spent my daughter’s 8th birthday in New York with Kiwi/Columbian friends who live there. The highlight of her birthday was a shopping spree at American Girl Place Fifth Avenue. So we came home to New Zealand with Stella and Stacy my daughters new dolls. Hence our brand name!

With the distance and shipping costs for sending branded clothes to our part of the world being pretty prohibitive, my daughters and I started to get creative. I started sewing, knitting and crocheting when I was a girl and creating my own designs was a natural step for me. I’m a graphic/web designer by day so this is just another outlet for creativity. I wanted to design knitted and crocheted clothes for the dolls that would mirror the kind of things my daughters would actually wear.

We were thrilled to discover Liberty Jane Patterns. And the extremely high standard of design has been an inspiration to me. I’m very excited about becoming part of the community. Thanks for inviting a Kiwi into the fold.
